Outbreak Survival - Initial Release

By June the game was ready to be released publicly, I started to advertise both the regular version and BC version heavily to see which one would catch on first.

For the first week only a few players played and occasionally the game got one or two servers full. It took a couple of weeks for the players to start noticing the game was there and the initial reception was mixed. The positive feedback was generally along the terms of "nice game" or ideas on how to improve gameplay experience, the negative view from quite a few people was mostly claiming the game was either outright copied or free modelled. (None of which were true).

I tried for two weeks to populate the servers, after that I then started to give up. A very lengthily argument with another Roblox player nearly put the nail in the coffin for me, however I decided to try one last time, and to my amazement the game I spent months planning and building started to get lots of people playing it....

That evening the game had about 6 servers full, but I only fully realised how popular the game got after I awoke the following morning. The first sign I get when something's up is the amount of PM's you have in your inbox. There were over 30 messages, which was more than usual for me since I make sure I keep my inbox clear. I then noticed the game had an unusually high amount of visits, so I checked the comments and to my surprise in the evening (while I was asleep) the game managed to reach the front page. The comments were as usual mostly filled with spam, and among that the regular positive and negative comments.

But I didn't take notice of spam or negative stuff, I decided while it was quiet in the morning to create the first real update, and a massive update I did create.

Initial Release Gameplay:

The game carried over most of the stuff from Beta, but included a fully working shop, all the Beta Zombies: (Normal Zombie, Fast Zombie, Crawler Zombie, Kamikaze Zombie, Ethereal Zombie and Brute Zombie.) along with two brand new Zombies, which were the Wraith Zombie and the Bullet Zombie.

Time to survive was set at 13 minutes.

Points for each kill was set to 10.

There were 62 items in the shop to buy.

The buildings were mostly the same, aside from all of them getting movable barrels and also the Blue Storage Room (building on the right) had a working code door.

The weapons were all projectile based, and did not utilize the (new at the time) hitscan.

Invisible walls were added to prevent players from escaping the map.

The details on the massive update will be posted soon.
